Minds Matter is a volunteer-driven organization whose mission is to transform the lives of accomplished high school students from low-income families by broadening their dreams and preparing them for college success.  Our volunteers are college graduates who are energetic, committed and successful individuals who dedicate their time to supporting our students in reaching their dreams.  The organization has over 2,000 volunteers in 14 cities, serving over 1,100 students.

Mentor: Mentors play a crucial role in empowering and guiding mentees on their journey to and through college by building a supportive relationship, offering guidance, and sharing experiences and expertise over students’ 10th, 11th and 12th grade years. This is extremely rewarding as you build relationships within your 2 mentees and co-mentor and cultivate community within Minds Matter.

Team Leader: Program Team Leads are responsible for leading and facilitating activities for ~8-12 Mentees and ~8-12 Mentors on Monday nights with the support of a prepared curriculum. This is extremely rewarding as you build relationships with numerous Mentors and Mentees and cultivate a sense of community for a room full of students and volunteers. 

Summer Program Manager: Summer Program Managers are responsible for managing the summer program application, acceptance, travel, and budget for mentees. This position is key to our mentees having a positive, successful experience at a college summer program and is extremely rewarding as you build relationships with numerous Mentors and Mentees and support them on their journey.

College Counseling and Enrichment: College Advisors provide essential guidance to both Senior and Junior students and their mentors throughout the program year. Combining strategy, mentorship, and purpose, this role is extremely rewarding as you play a direct part in shaping a mentee’s future by helping them navigate one of the most important decisions of their life: choosing a Best Fit college.
